Course Overview

Cells in their natural environment are surrounded by a complex extracellular matrix that provides structural and functional cues to the surrounding cells. Hydrogel plates approximate this environment in 3D cell culture but require extensive preparatory steps, including hydrogel assembly, hydrogel optimization, and cell encapsulation.

This Technique Talk will demonstrate how to use convenient, automation-compatible, pre-cast hydrogel plates to quickly and easily establish 3D cell cultures for high-throughput screening and high content analysis.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how TrueGel3D® HTS plates solve limitations of 3D cell culture in drug discovery
  • Learn how to set up screening assays using TrueGel3D® HTS plates
  • See how to easily establish colony formation assays
  • Know how to create 3D co-cultures of tumor spheroids and T cells using TrueGel3D® HTS plates
