Course Overview

Phagocytosis is a key mechanism for removing apoptotic cells and intruders. While this process is essential to maintain tissue homeostasis and immune function, researchers have limited technologies to study phagocytosis in living cells. Current approaches rely on end-point assays that provide limited kinetic information and do not allow researchers to study cell morphology changes.

In this Technique Talk, Jasmine Trigg will introduce new strategies to combine pHrodo® reagents with Incucyte® Live-Cell Analysis Systems to monitor and quantify phagocytic events in real time.

Learning Objectives

  • Overview of validated assays for image-based fluorescent readouts of phagocytosis
  • Guidance on experimental set-up and optimization
  • How to implement live-cell analysis into development workflows
  • Live-cell analysis applications for immuno-oncology, inflammation and infection, and neuroscience
